Why I Paint, Part 3

Naked, 22-1/2″x28-1/2″

I wonder… Do you (generally speaking) make time to be with yourself? I mean to really be with yourself- to think about your life, where it has brought you and if it is where you would like it to be? Are you meeting your own needs for emotional well being without depending on others? Are you pursuing what you really need/want, OR what others expect/desire from you?

These are questions I thought I answered for myself. In reality I began with a preconceived starting point of who I should be and what I needed to do in order to be successful in life.

Every once in a while ruffle your feathers and stand on your head. Go back to the drawing board and re-conceptualize who you are. While you’re at it be kind to yourself. Do not linger on lost opportunities or dreams yet to be pursued because now is your chance. Each morning you wake is your chance. For this I am thankful.
